About the Author Matthew Landrus is a specialist on the pre- and early modern visual culture of science, technology, and philosophy in Europe. He has published widely on the work of Leonardo da Vinci, with particular interest in the artist/engineer's working methods and preparations for books. An art and science historian, Dr. Landrus is a lecturer at the Rhode Island School of Design, a research fellow and tutor at the University of Oxford, and has taught at the Open University, University of Louisville, and the Savannah College of Art and Design. This was a book being used for a college class on Leonardo da Vinci this summer along with the Kemp book. This book was easy to read and made art history more interesting and fun. It is not long, boring reading but to the point with shorter concise chapters. Dr Landrus is at Oxford
